We're excited to offer comprehensive certification courses in tractor loader backhoe (TLB) operation, and excavator use. Here's a sample at what you can expect:
Our Programs

Tractor Loader Backhoe Certification (636a):
Our 8-week course includes comprehensive training in tractor loader backhoe operation, covering everything from pre-op inspections to snow plowing techniques. Get ready to kickstart your career with an apprenticeship accreditation at the end of the course.

Excavator Certification (up to 8 tons) (636b):
Join our 2-week intensive course to master mini excavator operation, including excavation regulations, grading techniques, and attachment changes. Receive a mini excavator certificate upon completion.
Safety Courses and Prerequisites:
Working at Heights (8 hours)
Ground Disturbance (6 hours)
Trench Safety (8 hours)
Hoisting and Rigging (16 hours)
These subjects are taught during the first week of each course, followed by practical application in the field.
There will be training on all 15 apprenticeship priorities for the duration of the 8 weeks (mandated by the Ontario government; grade sticks, pre-op, health + safety, environment, soil types, perform basic functions, protecting self and others, organising work, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, grade stakes, laser level use, inspect and use of tools, instruments and equipment, operation of the T.L.B, perform post op inspections and storage, transport and loading equipment, attachments )

Various excavation methods and backfilling techniques
Job planning and sequencing
Positive and negative excavations
Use of laser levels for precision work

Owner Operator
Learn from Robb Farthing, an industry consultant qualified to train level 1 and level 2 tractor loader backhoe (636A) Ontario curriculum. He is Red Seal Trade Certified, has worked in all sectors of the construction field relative to his trade. He has worked all over Canada and has over 50 years of experience in the field of heavy equipment operators. Robb’s state-of-the-art facility is located in the Peterborough area.
